Seth’s Perspective

“But you guys just got on the adoption list like a month ago, I thought they told you it would take months… maybe even years” I said to Max. They were told it could take several months, sometimes years, and sometimes it just never happens. Brody made a book of their lives to send out to help birthmothers get to know them. It was pictures of them and Freddy (and of course Witchy, Zoey, and Jimmy). The book told the story of their life with words, pictures, some of Brody’s artwork, and even a letter dictated by Teddy that talks about why he wanted a little sister and a video talking about why he wanted a baby sister. It painted a beautiful picture of their world… well our world. It showed a loving family, and giant extended family that would surround any baby with love and give them an amazing life… it was meant to sway birthmothers to choose them, and since Brody produced it, of course it was amazing. Things were moving fast.

“I KNOW. Right? We didn’t believe the adoption specialist when she called. Oh hell, I don’t believe it now! But apparently, we were the birthmother’s third choice and her first two choices unexpectedly pulled out, sometimes it works like that I guess” he said. I could hear the excited disbelief in his voice. Franky, I doubt if they cared why, they were just happy that they were up to bat. “The mother’s in labor, we need to get to Atlanta today. Listen, we’re just telling Teddy it’s an unexpected work trip, we don’t want him to know anything until it’s for sure. We haven’t told anyone else except Cay, Craig, and Ricky. We left the gladiator for Cay to get to work and school, he’ll be okay on his own for a few days. Ricky will keep things running at the plant, and Craig will keep progress moving forward at the farm. We’ve heard too many horror stories about people going home empty handed and want to keep the circle of people in the know tiny.”

“I’ll do my damnedest, but BA comes back to work tomorrow” I said with a laugh. We both knew she’d drive me insane until I told her.

“You’re on the front line, son. Be strong” Max said with a laugh. “I promise we’ll tell them as soon as we know it’s for real.” After that we hung up and I updated Zach. Freddy was just excited that Teddy was coming over and didn’t ask why.

When they dropped Teddy off at our place, we talked logistics for a bit, and I promised to check in on Cay. They kissed Teddy goodbye, and he ran inside to decorate cookies with our kids and Zach, while I talked to Brody and Max some more, they were essentially clueless. All they knew is that there was a young girl in Atlanta giving birth and they had a chance to adopt her baby girl. “So, what can we do? I mean, you guys don’t even have a nursery or anything set up.”

“Well, we bought a crib and bunch of other baby shit ‘cuz we knew we’d need it sooner or later; we just didn’t put nothin’ together yet. it’s up in the attic” Brody said.

“We can put that together for you” I offered excitedly… I really wanted to help.

“Just wait y’all” Brody said. “I just aint convinced this is real yet” he was being cautious.

“Me neither” Max agreed. It was a weird moment. I wanted to throw them a gigantic baby shower, set the nursery for them, fill their freezer with casseroles, and make sure that baby was surrounded by love! But they were nervous, unsure, and afraid to do anything to prep. “We got about a six hour drive ahead. We’ll keep you posted” Max promised as he got in the Pacifica to head out.

“What about a baby seat?” I asked before he shut the door.

“We’ll buy one when we get there, I guess. PLEASE take good care of Teddy, you got the housekey if he needs to get anything” he said.

“We’ll trat him like one of our own.” I said with a smile.

“As always” Brody yelled from the Driver’s seat, then Max shut the door and the two guys were on the road, hopefully to return with the little princess they’d both been dreaming of.

The weekend was a lot of fun! We all loved having Teddy around, he was like one of us. He and Teddy bunked in Freddy’s room, and we moved Izzy’s upper bunk down to floor level for Ali. Izzy was funny as hell “hosting” Ali, we listened through the monitor. She checked on him constantly and asked him question after question like, “You want moe bLankets, ALi? You want to sLeep wif a bowbie dow, Ali?” You firsty, Ali?” She was trying so hard to master the L sound… R’s were another story, but she was trying. It made me a little sad, she was growing up so fast. As much of a little pain in the ass, as she could be, she loved her brothers… BOTH (god, I just wanted Ali’s adoption to be final, if his adoption fell through it would devastate us all). And of course, across the hall Teddy and Freddy were up all night playing and horsing around, it was the weekend so we let it slide.

When the kids were all finally asleep, Zach and I crawled into bed naked. We talked as we lie there staring at the ceiling. “I can’t believe Brody and Max already found a little girl” I said.

“I know, it’s happening so fast, Man, I hope everything goes through” Zach replied.

“Same with Ali” I responded with a sigh. “I’m so afraid something’s gonna fall through. We got so lucky with Freddy and Izzy; things just fell into place.”

Zach turned and kissed me, “Everything will go fine with Ali. Dan says any family they have been able to find is denying he even exists, no one is coming to take him, he’s gonna be ours.”

“I hope you’re right” I said as I kissed him back, “I love that little guy.”

“I am, and we all do. We’re creating an amazing little family here” he said, our lips were almost touching. He leaned in and kissed me. It was a tender kiss that lingered on, after a bit he managed to roll onto me. His body was cold at first but soon his skin warmed mine, and mine his. It was a sweet, quiet, tender moment and I soaked it up. I could feel Zach’s soft, warm, appendage against mine. They seemed to be energizing each other as they both grew hard and ready. Zach gyrated his hips slightly as we continued to kiss. My arms instinctively wrapped around his neck, and my legs enveloped his hips. The heels of my feet rested on the soft skin of his firm, perfect ass and I giggled a little to myself thinking that my feet were touching one of the most beautiful things in the world… Zach’s butt.

Zach’s moves were subtle but deliberate as he set himself up for a flawless entry. He very stealthily reach into the nightstand to extract the ever-present bottle of I.D. lube and put some on his fingers. He reached down and tapped my backdoor with his middle finger and my sphincter answered with a smile and let him in. He moved in and out slowly, brushing my prostate just so with each movement and making my body quake with revelry. In that moment, my worries were gone and the world was perfect. A short-lived feeling of emptiness came over me as Zach’s finger retreated from my hole. The feeling disappeared when his ample magnificence took their place and filled me. Oh, my flipping lord, he felt right in me! He slowly pushed in and out as I lie there looking up into his soulful, hazel eyes. When I looked in his eyes, I used to feel like it was a window to his soul, but after all this time they felt more like a mirror reflecting our love… we had become one soul. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that sounds frigging corny… but that’s how I felt.

Zach made love to me… it was so amazing! Hot, sexy, euphoric, and… well comforting. Like having him inside me made everything okay. His lovemaking was tender, even when he picked up speed and used more force. The friction of our abs sandwiching my cock made me cum first… hands-flipping-free. Zach kept going, smearing my cum between us as it became sticky and cold, but none of that mattered. What mattered was the pulsating flesh tube dominating my innards. I felt him grow harder and wider until he exploded inside me. His warmth filled my insides and his soft moans filled my ears. His climax was punctuated with a tender, loving, but hot as fuck kiss.

Zach’s perfect, sweaty body collapsed on top of mine. “God, I love you” he said as looked into my soul… okay, OUR soul.

“I love you too” I said. Then he rolled off me. His slimy abs rubbed against my back and glued us together as we fell asleep spooning.

The next morning, I felt a little slap on my ass, “Get up, we’re gross. We need to shower before the kids get up” Zach whispered. Then we got up and took a shower together, soaping each other up… yeah, we gave each other quick hand jobs and did our damnedest not to slip in our own seed.

After our shower we checked on the kids, it was still early. Izzy and Ali were both asleep sprawled out in one bed, she had apparently crawled into his bed in the middle of the night. It was cute as fuck! Across the hall Freddy and Teddy were asleep on the bedroom floor with a bunch of Legos in front of them. They both had building bricks stuck to their faces as arms, they must’ve fallen asleep playing… again… cute as fuck.

We got up, and cleaned the house before the kids got up. Once they were up and rolling, I made breakfast. Teddy was so attentive to Izzy… after hanging at our house so much, he was so ready for a sibling. After breakfast we dressed the kids and then they played for a while until we loaded everyone into the Atlas.

“Where we goin’?” Freddy asked.

“It’s a surprise” I said. They begged for answers until we pulled into the car dealership where Taylor worked. It was time to get Zach a new ride. “We’re gonna look at new cars for Daddy Sach” I said. The kids all cheered.

We had agreed to sell the GTI to Colton… it was newer and in better condition than his Corolla, and although we couldn’t really afford to donate it, we could afford to give him a deal and let him make payments. Colton was so excited. When we walked into the dealership with the four kids, Taylor greeted us, he knew we were coming. He was looking good as always. Izzy ran to him and jumped in his arms… that kid had a way of making every villager feel like they were the most important person in the world. “Taylow, I LLLove you hao, it pwetty” she said as she stroked his long locks (Izzy to English translation: “Taylor, I love your hair, it’s so long and beautiful”).

“Thank you, Izzy. I wish it was curly like yours” he responded making her smile ear to ear. She was such a little attention whore… and I loved it!

“Daddy Sach need a new cow” Izzy said while she rested snuggly in Taylor’s strong arms (Izzy to English translation: “My father Zach is in need of a new vehicle; can you help us?”). The two discussed what Zach was looking for, Izzy’s main criteria was that it was shiny, Taylor agreed to help her.

He led us to his small office where the five of us (me, Zach, Taylor, Izzy, and Ali) discussed our options while Freddy and Teddy were off looking at the cars in the showroom. “I know you wanted to look at preowned options and let someone else take the depreciation, and I found several that fit your criteria, we can walk the lot and check them out” Taylor said. “But I crunch the numbers, and with the current manufacturer incentives, and our dealerships loyalty program, financing deals, etc. We can get you in a brand new Jetta for less than your budget, the warranty would be way better than anything you’d get on a preowned.”

“But doesn’t it depreciate by like 10% as soon as I drive it off the lot?” Zach asked.

“So what? You’re not going to sell it are you?” If you drive it as long as you did the GTI, it will be Freddy’s first car” Taylor said (he was an amazing salesman).  I looked at Zach, we both did the math in our head, then laughed. Taylor was right. Freddy could be driving this car!

“But I wanted some bells and whistles, the GTI is so basic. Won’t that be easier on something used and a little higher end?” Zach asked.

“I’m talking high end package, tricked out” Taylor said with a grin. He pointed out his office window, “THAT one, right there.” We all out to see the shined up, four door, Metallic gray beauty, Izzy’s eyes lit up… yup, it was shiny!

“Damn, that’s nice” I said. “It’s the same color as the Atlas.”

Izzy (who was sitting on my lap) said, “you say damn. Damn is bad. Don’t say damn, Daddy Zeff.” The three adults in the room did our best not to laugh, then I apologized. She accepted with a serious look on her face.

“Yup, his and his matching vehicles” Taylor said bringing us back to business. The he stood and led us out of the office and toward the shiny car. Freddy and Teddy came running from the showroom to join us, and our family circled the vehicle, checking it out and looking in the windows.

Zach got in the driver’s seat and inhaled deeply, “Wow, smell that” Zach said. “New car smell! I’ve never had a brand new car before.” He so deserved this, he never spent money on himself, he ALWAYS put the family first. He kept exploring all the features, he was like a little kid at Christmas.

“You want to test drive it?” Taylor asked.

“You guys go, we’ll stay here and look around the lot” I Said and the two guys drove off. Meanwhile, back at the lot… me and the kids walked around and looked at all the cars. There were several nice sedans, but I don’t know… that brand new Jetta seemed to fit Zach like a glove.

I saw Taylor and Zach reenter the lot just as Teddy and Freddy came running up to me yelling “DAD!” and “UNCLE SETH!” And then in unison, “WE FOUND THE CAR. WE FOUND THE CAR. C’mon” They each yanked on a hand as Ali and Izzy toddled behind us to go check out ‘the perfect car for Daddy Zach.’ They dragged me to a bright yellow Lamborghini (with a used sticker price of over $300,000…. Yeah, the perfect car for two guys with three kids who are up to their asses in debt). Zach pulled the Jetta up behind us and got out with a giant smile.

“Well?” I asked.

He nodded and smiled, “I love it, it’s in our budget, the warranty is good…”

Taylor interrupted with, “and it has three Isofix mounting points in the rear seats” We looked at him with blank expressions on our faces… or maybe they were ‘what the fuck are you talking about?’ expressions. Either way, he picked up on it and said with a little laugh, “that means you can put three child seats in the back.”

“OHHHHHH” Zach said with his beautiful, brilliant smile before adding, “SOLD!”

“No, no, THIS one!” Freddy exclaimed as he pulled Daddy Sach over to the Lamborghini. Teddy chimed in with his approval as the boys tried to sell Zach.

“Where would I put the car seats?!” Zach asked in protest. “You could never ride with me” that kind of squelched the excitement.

Taylor excused himself then came back with the keys, looked at the boys and said,” Okay, if you two promise to never, ever tell anyone… I’ll take you for a ride” They two kids cheered with wide-eyed excitement and Zach pulled out his phone to record it all. Taylor opened the passenger door and they squeezed their tiny butts into the front seat. Taylor shut the door and said with a smile, “I’ll just drive them slowly around the lot since there’s no child seats… obviously.” With that he got in the driver’s seat, revved the powerful engine making thunder! The two boys in the front seat were so ridiculously excited! They roared off at a whopping 10 miles an hour and drove around the lot a couple of times (Taylor didn’t dare hit the streets without child seats). When they got back, you’d swear the just raced at Indy. They were so excited, and Taylor was their new hero.

Zach decided on the Jetta and he and Taylor went to work on the paperwork while I took the kids and headed home. Teddy wanted to call his dads so badly, so we dialed Max from the Atlas. Before he could say a word, I blurted the warning, “Hey Max I’m in the car with all the kids, Teddy wanted to say hi.”

“Hey Theo!” Max said clearly excited to talk to his son.

“Daddy!!!! We rode in a racecar and went really, really fast, and then…” Teddy excitedly told his father the story with Freddy adding color commentary along the way. Max had obviously put him on speaker and he and Brody were laughing at the boys’ excitement.

I clarified, “We just went over to Taylor’s to dealership to look at a new car for Zach, and Taylor took the boys for a ride in a Lamborghini. Man, Guys! You should’ve seen our boys!! They were zooming at least 10 miles an hour around that parking lot” I said making sure I put the event in perspective. “I’ll have Zach send y’all the video.”

“DANG boys!” Brody said, “that sounds like fun.”

“Yeah! It was loud like thunder Daddy” Teddy said and then he and Freddy went off on another excited rant. The two six year-olds were in freaking heaven.

We talked a little more and the kids told them all about Daddy Sach’s new ride before Max ended the call with, “Seth give me a call when you’re home” (code for: call me when the kids aren’t around), I agreed and hung up.

By the time Zach got home with his first brand new car, the kids were all playing a game of hide and seek. I watched as Teddy helped Ali and Izzy hide while Freddy counted, then hid himself. Yeah… that kid was ready for a sibling. While the kids played, I called Max back and called Zach in on a conference call so he could hear (I didn’t want to put him on speaker with tiny ears listening everywhere).

“So, what’s going on?” I asked Max and Brody.

“A weird, perfect storm” Max. said. “I guess we were number three on the birthmother’s consideration list. Couple number one caught his wife in bed with another guy, filed for divorce and backed out. Couple number two discover that the baby was mixed-race and backed out… so we’re up at bat.” He and Brody had basically said they would take any baby, they absolutely preferred a girl, but would love any that came their way… that moved them up the waiting list pretty fast.

“So, did she have the baby yet?” Zach asked.

“No, she’s been in and out of labor forever!” Max said. “But the doctor said we’re coming up on the home stretch. The mom is only sixteen, and we’ve been hanging out with her parents getting to know them. I guess the book we sent with the letter and the video of Freddy talking about why he wanted a baby sister is what sold them on us.”

“Tell ’em, Max” Brody cajoled from the other end of the phone.

Max let out an almost giddy laugh, “Okay guys…” and before he could say anything else, Brody cut him off.

“It’s twins. Twin girls!!!” He said with unsurmountable excitement.

“Holy shit” Zach gasped.

“Oh my, god… two Izzy’s. May god fucking save your frigging souls” I added.

The guys laughed and then Brody, quiet, calm, cool, collected Brody went off on a tangent, “Shit, y’all. Tomorrow this time we’re gonna have two baby girls. We got so much shit to do!” He listed all the stuff they had ordered online, a second crib, two basinets, clothes, diapers, etc. “We did all this last night and it should start showing up tomorrow, can you guys watch for packages on the porch and bring ‘em in?”

“Oh, and we’re hoping you can keep Theo until we get back?” Max asked pleadingly.

“Yeah, that’s a given. I’ll take him over to get his school stuff tonight” I replied. “Speaking of Teddy, what are we telling him, and have you told anyone else?”

“We’ll talk to him and let him know we need another day or so, then surprise him with two baby sisters” Max said.

“We called Dylan, Gina, Daddy, and BA” Brody added. “But nobody else knows.” We were all so excited. TWO BABY GIRLS!!! Damn, our village was on the grow. They agreed to keep us posted before we handed the phone to Teddy so his dads could let him know they would be gone a little longer.  Teddy ended the call with “I love you too” then ran back to play. A little later, Zach took the two boys for a ride over to BroMax in his new car so Teddy could pick up more stuff while I made dinner. It was a nice quiet Sunday night at home. Before we went to bed, I called BA and we planned on going over to BroMax on Monday night to put together whatever was there or whatever showed up on the porch to help them be prepared… our version of a baby shower, I guess.

The next morning, we awoke to a call from Max that the girls had arrived! They would be coming home on Tuesday to introduce us to the two, yet-to-be-named additions to our village.

We got up and did our usual routine with one more little man at the breakfast table. Eat Breakfast, feed the troops, carpool (while Zach drove off to work in his new Jetta), then off to the office. I pulled into the parking lot of Harrington House to find BA and Che arguing.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

“This crazy old bitch parked like two inches from me” Che said.

“Old bitch?! Who that HAIL are you callin’ an old bitch?!” BA spewed with venom in her voice and fire in her eyes. “And I’m parked between the damn lines. You’re the one parked all wonky.”

“How the hell am I supposed to get in my car ya’ old bitch?” Che barked back.

“Well, if ya’ woulda’ asked me nicely about two ‘old bitches’ ago, I would’ve happily moved her, but now you’re on your own, son” BA said as she walked away muttering, “old bitch my ass… that little punk better address me like the freakin’ lady I am…” she was still muttering when she entered the building.

I turned to Che, “I don’t give a crap what happened. BA is part of The Village and you treat her with respect. Period.”

“I didn’t know who the fuck she was” Che bit back.

“You mean you didn’t CARE who the fuck she was” by then I was pissed. Che’s eye’s got big when he heard me swear, “THAT’S the problem. You just don’t give a fuck” I had been thinking about the best way to approach Che in our session later that day, but his attack on BA pushed me over the edge (not that it really bothered her all that much).  “Let’s go to my office.”

“I aint got time for that shit” he scoffed.

“Make time. We’ll let Ricky know you’re gonna be late” I growled not giving him a choice. He huffed as he followed me into the therapy room. We passed BA along the way, he scowled at her and she just shook her head in response. “BA, can you let Ricky know Che will be late?” I asked politely, she was on it. When the door to the therapy room shut, before either of us could even sit. I looked Che in the eye, “I know you’ve been through some shit, but who the hell hasn’t. You only get what you give, Che” I said getting zero reaction. “We helped put a roof over your head, gas in your car, and food in your belly. You’ve got a job… a true chance to get on your feet, and you’re fucking it up at every turn.” He just scoffed at my words. “You may not give a fuck, but River does. River wants our help, he needs it. Shit, just do it for him” still no reaction.

“Listen, if his father does come for him, you’re helpless. You said it yourself, he’ll take River home, and have your ass thrown in jail” I said looking square into his eyes. “You can’t do this alone, we can help, and all you need to do is stop being a dick!”

Yup. I had just called a villager a dick. But it was clear Che wasn’t going to respond to polite reason… and frankly he was being one.
