An Unexpected Return

On their way back home, a warning light came on indicating a low tire pressure in one of his tires. Matt asked, “What’s that alarm?” Josh said, “It’s telling me one of the tires is low on pressure. I’m going to pull over when we get to a spot where we can. About a mile up the road, Josh pulled off the highway to find a spot to pull over. It was about a block later when Josh pulled off the road and by then it was obvious a tire was going flat. Josh and Matt got out and found it was the right front tire. They didn’t see anything obvious, but it was dark. Josh found a flashlight and started to examine the tire more closely. They could hear the slight hiss of air escaping. Eventually, Josh felt where the air was leaking and felt a nail stuck in the tire toward the inside of the tread. “Shit! It’s a nail. I hope the spare is inflated.” They found the jack and lug wrench and were relieved that the mini spare had good pressure. Of course, the jack was a cheap piece of junk, and the lug nuts must have been put on by an impact gun, so what should have taken twenty minutes, took over an hour and a half. By the time they got back on the road, it was nearly midnight.

It was almost eleven-thirty and Steve was awakened by a tapping on his arm. He opened his eyes and found two sets of eyes staring back at him. Steve asked, “What are you boys doing out of bed this late?” Eric said, “We’re hungry.” Shane added, “For Mc Donalds.” Steve said, “Can’t it wait until morning? We can have breakfast at Mc Donalds in the morning.” Shane said, “But we’re really hungry now.” Eric added, “Please?” Ian sat up and said, “How about I call room service and they can bring you up something.” The twins looked at Ian with puppy dog eyes and said, “We’re hungry for Mc Donalds, daddies.” Ian said, “I’m sorry, but we’re not getting up and driving to Mc Donalds now.” Steve looked at Ian with a strange look on his face and said, “The boys are right. We need to go, Ian. Get dressed.” Steve then climbed out of bed and got dressed. Ian did the same. Then, with the twins in tow, Steve knocked on the door of the other bedroom in their hotel suite. A female voice called out from the other side of the door, “What is it? Come in.” Steve opened the door, and the twins ran in ahead of Steve and said, “Mommy, daddies are going to McDonalds for us.” Melissa asked, “You don’t need McDonalds right now.” Steve then said, “Melissa, Ian and I have to go. It’s important. I’ll explain later.” Melissa suddenly looked concerned and said, “Please be careful.” Steve nodded and said, “Have the boys get in bed until we return.” Melissa nodded and then Steve and Ian left the hotel.

Steve and Ian drove down the highway in silence until Steve glanced over at Ian. Ian said, “I know. Let me know when.” Ian then punched three numbers into his cell phone and waited as they drove down the highway. There was a tractor trailer about a quarter mile ahead of them and Ian said, “That’s him, isn’t it?” It was a rhetorical question. He already knew it was. A minute later, Steve said to Ian, “Make the call!” Ian hit the dial button on his cell phone and the operator answered, “911. What’s your emergency?” Ian told the operator about an accident on a bridge on route 422 and gave them the mile marker. He said one of the vehicles is dangling on the edge and they need an emergency vehicle there quickly. Ian hung up and said they were on the way.

Josh and Matt were on a bridge and suddenly the headlights of an oncoming vehicle turned toward them, right in their eyes. Matt yelled out, “Fuck! That tractor trailer is headed right for us!” Josh yelled, “Hang on, Matt!” They had nowhere to go. Josh swerved to his left hoping to avoid the head-on collision, but the truck suddenly swerved as well and the trailer swung across the entire highway colliding with the right front of the car, sending it toward the side of the bridge. As the front of the car hit the curb, it bounced up onto the guard rail on top of the wall of the bridge. The tractor trailer continued to the end of the bridge and then drifted off the road into a tree. Josh’s car was now dangling off the edge of the bridge where any shift may send it plummeting down onto the highway below. Matt looked over at Josh, and asked, “Are you ok?” Josh turned toward Matt and said, “For the moment. Matt, you’re bleeding!” Matt had a small cut on his right cheek and a larger one on his right arm. He said, “It’s not too bad. I think we have bigger problems right now!” Just then the car shifted slightly further forward. Josh yelled, “Don’t move! Fuck!” A few cars passed below them from under the bridge, unaware that a car was dangling above. They heard a car on the bridge and hoped they would call 911 for them before the car dropped them to their apparent deaths. The car stopped behind them and they heard the car doors, and then voices.

As they got out of the car, Steve said to Ian, “Grab the rope from the trunk!” Then Steve ran over to the back of the dangling vehicle and yelled to its passengers, “Is anyone injured?”, as he looked the car over. Josh yelled back, “Not badly. At least for the moment! I think the car is slowly slipping!” Steve yelled, “We already called 911, but we’re going to see what we can do before they get here.” Matt yelled, "Thanks. Please hurry!” Ian ran over carrying the rope. Steve grabbed the end of the longest and began tying it to the rear axel of the car. Ian took the other end and said, “The only place to tie it securely is the other side of the bridge. I hope it’s long enough.” Steve said, “It has to be!” Ian made it to the other side and there was just enough to tie it to one of the posts securing the guard rail to the bridge. Just after Ian had finished tying it, the car shifted forward again. Josh yelled, “Shit!” at the same time Matt yelled, “Oh, fuck!” The rope tightened up but for the moment was holding the car from falling. After making sure his knot was sufficient, Ian ran over next to Steve, “Should we tie more ropes to the car?” Steve said, “No. That won’t work. We need to get them out of the car.” Then Steve yelled to the car’s occupants, “My name is Steve! Can you open your windows?” Josh reached over and carefully pressed the down window for Matt’s side even though there wasn’t much glass left in it. It began going down, but jammed after it went part way down. Matt said, “I think if I push on it, the rest might break off.” He reached up and pushed. It broke off, leaving just a couple sharp edges sticking up about a half inch from the door. Steve yelled to them, “Passenger, is there a floor mat you can reach to drape across the door?” Matt replied, “Yes, there is, but if I move, the car might shift! My name is Matt, and the driver’s name is Josh!.” Steve said, “We’re going to drop a rope down on either side of the car next to the windows. Tie the rope around your chests. That way, if the rope slips out of your hands it will keep you from falling.” Matt saw the rope lower next to his window and pulled it inside. Josh said, “Hurry up and tie it around yourself, Matt.” Matt looked over and saw Josh’s window was still up. “Josh, put your window down.” He could see the rope hanging just outside Josh’s window. Josh said quietly, “It won’t go down, Matt. Get yourself out and maybe I can move to your side.” Matt said, “Fuck!”, then he hurriedly tied the rope around his chest. He bent down, grabbed the floor mat, and placed it across the top of the door and then unbuckled his seat belt. Matt carefully started to climb out of the window, headfirst. As he did, the car shifted again. They both yelled out, “Shit!” The car went still again. Josh said to Matt, “Come on, Matt. Get out of the car. I’m right behind you.” Matt wriggled out of the window and Steve kept the rope tight so Matt wouldn’t drop once he made it out. Ian yelled down to Josh, “Yo, dude! Open your window!” Matt yelled up, “The window won’t go down. He’s been trying. He said he’s going to try to slide over to my side once I’m out.” Matt was finally out of the car with his right foot on the front window rail of the door. Then Steve began pulling him up. Ian asked, “Do you want me to help you pull him up, Steve?” Steve yelled over, “No! Keep that rope ready at the driver’s door!” Ian glanced over at Steve and nodded. Just as Steve pulled Matt over the guard rail and he dropped to the pavement, the driveshaft snapped, and the car swung down and slammed across the side of the bridge. Ian yelled, “Fuck, it’s going to drop, Steve!” Steve yelled out, “Push the door open, buddy!” Just then the car, minus the rear axel dropped to the highway below. Matt screamed, “No! Josh! No! No!” They heard the crunching of metal as the front of the car smashed on the highway below and then again as the rest of the car dropped onto its roof. Tears were running down Matt’s face as he assumed the worst. Steve looked over at Ian who was straining with the rope he held. Ian then said, “I could use a hand here, Steve.” Steve smiled and said, “I thought since I pulled Matt up, you’d want to show off your muscles too.” Ian grinned and shook his head. Matt looked at the two of them, kidding with each other and thought they must be insane and then realized Ian was pulling something up on the rope. Steve started helping and Matt rushed over and looked over the side to see they were pulling Josh up. He was holding tightly onto the rope. Matt yelled, “Oh my God! Josh! Hold on!” Matt began helping as well and soon Josh was on the bridge looking at the rope burn on his hands. They heard sirens and soon there were fire trucks, cop cars, ambulances and tow trucks on the bridge. Steve warned them about the rope tied across the bridge, still tied to the rear axel of the car that was now on the highway below. Two other cop cars were down below. One was putting out flares to keep vehicles in the other lane. The other cop was inspecting the wreckage. They escorted Matt and Josh over to the ambulance while Steve and Ian talked to the police. The tow truck that was on the bridge pulled the rear axel up and they untied the rope so traffic could get moving again, at least one lane anyway. Steve and Ian gave the police their accounts of what happened. They’d forgotten all about the truck driver who was found passed out with a bump on his head. He was unaware of what had happened, apparently having fallen asleep while trying to get home after a long day. Steve and Ian then drove to the hospital to meet the two guys they had just plucked from the jaws of death. That’s what the police sergeant had said to them. Steve and Ian had protested, saying it was just something anyone else would have done.

When they arrived at the hospital, they found Josh in the waiting room with his hands bandaged. He smiled as Steve and Ian approached, “I don’t know how to thank you. You saved our lives.” Steve and Ian both smiled, and Ian said, “We’re glad we could help. Apparently, the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel.” Steve asked, “Where’s your friend, Matt?” Josh replied, “He’s getting his arm stitched up. It was worse than he had let on, but he’s fine. I’m Josh, by the way. I know, you’re Steve and you’re Ian, right?” Steve said, “Yes. It’s nice to meet you Josh, though I wish it was under better circumstances.” Josh grinned and Steve saw his dimples for the first time. Josh said, “What circumstances could be better than Matt and I being alive, thanks to you two.” Ian said, “Maybe a circumstance where you still had your car.” Josh grinned and then they heard Matt’s voice as he entered the waiting room, “The car can be replaced, lives can’t. Thank you so much. I thought Josh was gone.” Tears rolled down his cheeks as he recalled how he felt in that moment when he knew the car had crashed below and assumed Josh was in it. Josh said to Matt, “Matt, it’s ok. We’re both alive.” Matt ran over and embraced Josh tightly as he sobbed, “I thought I’d lost you.” Steve and Ian looked at each other recalling another time when they were in a similar situation. They smiled knowingly. Two police officers came in and had a couple more questions. First, they took statements from Josh and Matt, then he asked Ian, “You were the one who called 911?” Ian said, “Yes, it was me. Steve was driving and had me call.” The officer turned to Matt and said, “You said in your statement that the accident happened right after eleven fifty-five PM.” Matt said, “Yes, I had just looked down at the dash display and noticed the time just before looking up and seeing the headlights coming at us.” The officer asked, “The dash display on the car you were in?” Matt wondered why the officer was asking the question, but replied, "Yeah, the only dash display in front of me. My phone was clipped to my side and the seatbelt made it difficult to grab it. Yes, it was the car’s dash display. Why does that matter?” The other officer said, “When I checked out the wreckage, the ignition was still on. I turned it off to keep the leaking gasoline from igniting. When I did this, I saw the time on the dash display. It was in synch with the time on my tablet, which is in synch with 911’s control system.” Josh said, “Ok, what’s your point? We were almost killed and you’re talking about exactly when it occurred?” The first officer, Phillips, said, “I’m sorry. I know you’ve been through a lot tonight and what happened was not your fault. Me and Officer James here need to clear up some discrepancies, that’s all.” Josh asked, “What discrepancies? A tractor trailer ran us off a bridge and almost killed us! If it wasn’t for Steve and Ian here, we wouldn’t even be alive right now!” Officer James said, “The discrepancy is with the timeline of the event we were given. Everything seems to match the timeline except the 911 call, which came in at eleven fifty-one. Four minutes before the actual incident.” Josh looked at Steve and Ian, and then asked, “Are you accusing them of staging this?” Officer Phillips said, “We’re just trying to get to the truth. So far as we know, the truck driver and the Andrews-O’Connor’s have never met before. Since all the clocks were in synch, why did the call come in four minutes before the actual accident?” Officer James then burst out, “Now I know where I’ve seen these guys before! These are the guys that were on TV that were in that bad highway accident a couple years ago. If it weren’t for you two, it would have been a lot worse. I understand you both were almost killed as a result. One of you also pulled a group of teens from a burning car, suffering burns yourself. Then, if I recall, you saved a family in a house fire and were almost killed going back in to save a kitten. After that, you saved two kids in a car from a landslide and were buried under it, only to emerge a week later.” Officer Phillips asked, “That was these guys? I saw the highway accident on the news, and that landslide. I didn’t realize it was the same two guys, but now I remember their photos shown on the news during the search.” Officer James smiled and nodded, then said, “I think we can fix this very slight discrepancy, gentlemen. Um, Mr. Andrews-O’Connor, do you think we could get a picture together?” Steve smiled and said, “Since you just embarrassed the hell out of Ian and I, only if Josh and Matt are included.” Officer Phillips said, “Of course.” Josh and Matt just watched the whole conversation in confusion. It seemed they were in the midst of celebrities and had no idea who they were. Officer James then asked one of the nurses to take the photo. Just then, another police officer came in with two bags and said, “We retrieved your personal belongings from the wreckage. If we’ve missed anything, here’s the address and number of the scrap yard where the wreckage was taken.” Josh took the bags and thanked the officer, then said, “Fuck! What do I do about a car now?” Officer James said, “You should be able to get a rental in the morning. In the meantime, get some rest, you’ve both been through a lot tonight.” Matt said, “We have classes tomorrow. How are we going to get home in time?” Josh said, “I don’t think missing a day or two of classes will be a big deal. The professors will understand.” Matt then said, “I don’t know about you’ Josh, but I don’t have the money for a motel tonight.” Steve said, “Look, we have a two-bedroom suite, and each has two queen-sized beds. If you’d like, you could sleep in one of the beds as long as you don’t mind sleeping together for a night.” Josh said, “We wouldn’t want to impose on you. You’ve already saved our lives.” Ian smiled and said, “You won’t be imposing, but you have to understand you’d be sharing the bedroom with Steve and me. As long as that’s not a problem for you, we’d love to have you stay, at least for the night, as much as there is left of it.” Matt said, “We’re sorry we kept you up so late.” Steve laughed and said, “It wasn’t your fault. We were up for, um, the twins. What do you say? I think the twins would enjoy meeting you in the morning.” Steve then looked to Ian and said, “At least I hope they went back to sleep.” Ian rolled his eyes and said, “One could only hope, but knowing them…” Josh said, “Wait, you have twins? I had assumed you were a couple, but you have kids?” Ian laughed and said, “Yeah, it’s a long story. Our life keeps taking some unexpected turns, but the twins were a choice we made together. They are a handful though.” Matt said, “I’d like to meet them, and I’d also like to get to know you both a little more. What do you think, Josh?” Josh smiled and said, “Sounds fine with me. What time do we need to get up. It’s already after one. What time do you need to check out of your suite?” Steve smiled and said, “We have it for another week or so. We’re visiting the historical sites in the area for the twins. This area is full of history.” Officer James then said, “We have your numbers, but could you stop down at the station for a recorded statement tomorrow sometime, Josh and Matt. Tomorrow afternoon would be fine as I understand you need to get some rest.” Josh replied, “Sure, Officer James.” The police then left. Josh and Matt got their things together and followed Steve and Ian out to their car. As they followed behind them, Josh nudged Matt and motioned with his head toward Steve and Ian’s butts. Matt’s jaw dropped as he smiled.

On their way to the hotel, Josh said, “I think it’s great that you’re teaching your kids about the history of the country. Are they interested or bored with it?”  Ian laughed and said, “It depends. Sometimes both at the same time, but they’re very inquisitive.” Matt asked, “How old are they?” Steve replied, “Four.” Josh and Matt both looked at each other with their mouths gaping and eyes wide.” Josh asked, “You did just say four, as in four years old?” Ian looked back with a grin and said, “Yep.” Josh and Matt just looked at each other.

Once they got to the hotel, they took the elevator up and entered the suite. Steve said, “I’m assuming you’re a bit under twenty-one, but you had a rough time tonight. Can I offer you two a drink?” Matt and Josh both accepted as Ian took their bags and went into one of the bedrooms. As Steve handed them each a drink, Matt asked, “So, are you and Ian a couple?” Steve smiled and said, “You might say that. We’re married, thus Andrews-O’Connor. I was Steven Andrews, and he was Ian O’Connor. We chose that hyphenation because I thought O’Connor-Andrews sounded too cumbersome.” Ian had entered the room at that moment and said, “Just an acknowledgement of the superiority of the Irish over the Brits.” The tongue-in -cheek remark drew laughter from everyone.

Suddenly, a door swung open and two little kids came running into the room yelling, “Daddies! You’re back!” One ran to Steve and one to Ian, wrapping their little arms around their legs in a hug. Then they switched and ran to the opposite dad. Josh and Matt smiled at the two, then Josh looked at Matt questioningly and motioned to the twins with his head. Matt asked Josh in a whisper, “What?” Josh said, “Can’t you see it? They both have a resemblance to both of them.” Matt said, “Duh, they are twins.” Josh said, “So which of them is the mom?” It then dawned on Matt what Josh was saying. Then the same door that the twins came through opened again and a woman emerged, saying, “You two couldn’t just sleep until morning? I’m glad to see you two returned without casts or bandages for a change.” Steve and Ian grinned, and Steve said, “Yeah, just some callouses from rope burn.” Matt whispered to Josh, “They both have some of her features too. How is that even possible?” Steve then said, “Melissa, I’d like you to meet Josh and Matt. They’re going to be sleeping here tonight.” Melissa said, “So, these two were the reasons you needed to rush out tonight. It’s nice to meet you and I’m glad you’re safe.” Josh said, “What did you mean by that? You said they rushed out tonight for us?” Matt asked, “How would they know we were going to be in an accident? This doesn’t make any sense.” Both twins said in unison, “Daddy Steve dreamed it.” Both Josh and Matt turned to stare at Steve. Josh said, “Wait! What?” Ian said to the twins, “Didn’t we teach you boys to keep that as a secret between us?” Shane said, “We’re sorry. I guess we forgot.” Matt asked, “What does he mean that you dreamed it.” Melissa then said, “Well, it’s nice to meet you, Josh and Matt, but I need to get the boys back to bed. Matt and Josh said, “Nice to meet you as well, Melissa.” She said, “See you in the morning. Eric! Shane! Hug your dads goodnight and get back to bed.” They both replied, “Yes, Mommy.” The twins hugged Steve and Ian goodnight and then went over and gave Josh and Matt hugs too, before saying in unison, “We’re glad you’re both safe. Goodnight. Dads, can we still have McDonalds for breakfast?” Steve laughed and said, “I guess, since you were good boys and woke me up in time.” Matt and Josh just looked at each other questioningly at the weirdness of it all.

Once Melissa and the twins went into the bedroom, Steve sat down in the living area of the suite with Josh and Matt. Ian made them each another drink. He figured they might need one after hearing what the twins had said. Ian returned with the drinks and sat down next to Steve and said, “You may as well explain it to them.” Steve smiled and said, “I still haven’t wrapped my head around it yet.” Matt said, “This doesn’t make any sense. You knew we were going to get run off the road? How? Couldn’t you have stopped it if you knew?” Steve shook his head, “It doesn’t work that way. First off, could you guys keep secret what I’m about to tell you?” Matt shrugged and said, “Sure, I doubt anyone would believe us if we did tell them. I don’t know if I believe it.”

Steve began, “Several years ago, Ian and I were returning from a job. We were in an accident.” Ian interrupted, “Steve tried to prevent the accident and was successful in preventing a lot more deaths.” Steve continued, “I saw a guy trying to pass, using the oncoming passing lane. A car was coming at him head on with a fuel tanker alongside him. I tried to give the guy room to get over, but he didn’t make it. He was killed as well as the driver of the oncoming car, but he made it over far enough and I was able to slow the traffic behind us enough, I guess, so it wasn’t as severe as it could have been. I thought I had hallucinated having a conversation with the two deceased gentlemen, but I found out after I regained consciousness that the conversation must have happened somehow. The driver of the oncoming car had his grandson with him. He told me to tell him to look in a certain location of their house for something. I told his grandson and he found it right where I was told it would be found. After that, I began having strange dreams followed by urges to go somewhere or take a different route than I normally would. Each time it ended up leading us to a tragedy taking place where we were able to help the victims in some way.” Ian said, “The first time was when I still had amnesia from the first accident. Steve saved four people from a burning car. He had badly burned his hands and arms doing it. I remember being so angry with him because he could have been killed.” Steve laughed and said, “And who was it that ran back into that burning house to save a kitten and almost got both of us killed?” Ian grinned and said, “I knew you’d figure out a way to save us.” Steve said, “Yeah, I still remember how bad it stung when they sprayed that antiseptic on my back after removing all the glass.” Josh and Matt just sat there awestruck, taking it all in. Steve said, “Then something strange happened.” Matt asked, “Stranger than what you’ve already told us?” Steve said, “I’ll let you decide. Ian started kind of sharing my dreams. It began when he started describing some of the things that were in my dreams.” Ian added, “Then they started reoccurring, showing us more on each consecutive dream. The recurring dreams began right before we pulled the kids from the car followed by the landslide.” Matt said, “This is the stuff the police officers were talking about in the hospital!” Steve said, “Yeah, it was. That’s why we want you to keep what we’re telling you a secret. We don’t want all that attention. Sometimes it has a negative effect on us and those around us. We’re just trying to help where we can, just as the police, firemen and emergency crews do every day. For some reason, we get a little advanced warning. The warning is never clear enough though to help us avoid the tragedy. Tonight, we had no idea what truck it would be or what car was going to be involved until we saw the truck. By then, it was too late to stop it from happening, but we were able to call 911 so that they could get here a little faster.” Josh smiled, “That explains that time discrepancy the officers were trying to figure out.” Ian smiled and said, “Yeah. No one would have known if that officer didn’t notice the clock display in the car.” Matt nudged Josh and said, “You should have turned off the car, Josh.” Josh nudged him back, saying, “Like that was on the top of my mind at that moment.” We all laughed. Matt then asked, “Would you mind if I asked you something unrelated to this?” Steve replied, “No, I don’t mind. Go ahead and ask.” Matt began, “The twins, they’re surrogates, right?” Ian smiled as Steve replied, “That’s right, Melissa agreed to be the surrogate mother, but we want to keep her in the twins lives as well as their half-brother, Ben, Melissa’s first child.” Matt wasn’t sure how to ask his next question, but he tried, “Well, I know it’s a personal question, but which of you was the donor?” Ian replied, “We both were. We just figured that whichever one of our sperm fertilized the egg didn’t matter to us. Either way, the kid would be both of ours. But it ended up being twins.” Josh suddenly jumped in and asked, “But how do they both resemble the both of you, and Melissa?” Steve and Ian looked at each other and then turned back to Josh and Matt and simultaneously said, “We don’t know. They just do.” Matt laughed and asked, “Do you guys share a brain or what?” Steve and Ian both answered, “Sometimes.” Matt then asked, “You said you’re visiting these historic sites for the twins. Aren’t they a bit young for stuff like that?” Steve and Ian laughed, and then Ian said, “They’re pretty mature for their age and love to learn about American history. Ben is usually along on our trips but he’s back in school right now. His uncle and grandfather are looking after him so Melissa could join us. Eric and Shane love their big brother.” Steve said, “Yeah, they frustrate him sometimes.” Josh asked, “What do you mean they frustrate him?” Ian grinned and said, “They’re not only mature for their age, but they inherited some of Steve’s talents.” Steve rolled his eyes and said, “I’ll say. Sometimes they tell me what was in my dreams.” Josh’s jaw dropped, “Holy fuck! That would scare the shit out of me.” Ian laughed and said, “Yeah, they keep us on our toes, but they’re great kids with big hearts.” Steve then said, “I’m sorry I didn’t ask before with everything that’s been going on. Obviously, by now you know Ian and I are married. I hope you don’t mind sharing our room. I don’t know what your situation is.” Josh said, “Matt’s my boyfriend, so no worries there.” Ian said, “You’re a cute couple.” Josh laughed and replied, “Says one of the two gorgeous hunks sitting opposite of us.” Matt said, indicating Ian, “He even has your adorable dimples, Josh.” Josh and Ian both couldn’t help but smile and blush. Then Josh looked to Steve and asked, “Mind if Matt and I turn in? I think the drinks and talk have eased my adrenaline rush from the accident.” Matt said, “Yeah, mine too. I could fall asleep in a minute.” Steve said, “Of course. Let me check the bed first though to make sure the twins weren’t eating anything and made a mess. They had been sleeping in our room until they woke me. What do you think, Stud, ready to get some sleep?” (Stud was Steve’s pet nickname for Ian) Ian replied, “Yeah, I think the drinks and talk have calmed my adrenaline rush as well. Let’s get some sleep before the twins wake us up and want to go to breakfast.”

The all got up and walked to the other bedroom. Steve checked the bed where the twins had been sleeping earlier and verified it was clean and then the four of them stripped to their underwear for bed. As they slid out of their pants, Matt nudged Josh and indicated the hottest butt they’d ever seen clad in blue, Jockey briefs on the side of the bed next to theirs. It was Ian, standing there, about to crawl into bed. Josh’s eyes went wide, and he watched Ian climb into bed next to Steve. Once Ian pulled the covers over himself, Josh walked around the bed he and Matt were sleeping in. Matt grinned as he noticed the tent in Josh’s boxers. The same tent that was in Matt’s own boxer briefs. As they crawled into bed and pulled the covers over them, they looked at each other, grinning. Then Steve said, “Goodnight, guys.” Matt and Josh both replied, “Goodnight.” Then they heard the familiar sound of kissing before Steve said, “’Night, Stud.”
