“The more things change, the more they stay the same.” This is especially true in a small town like McAlester. I found out how true it was the first time I returned home after I started college.

I asked Walker, “so you knew Nate was coming to see me?”

Walker nodded, “yep, after you told me you were gay, I just had to do a little match making. I thought you two would make a cute couple.”

I shook my head, “how did you know he would like me?”

He laughed, “boy, you need to be more observant. When you came to our show last night, his eyes nearly popped out of his head when he saw you. He asked me who you were, and I told him he should ask you out.”

I said, “thanks, I’m glad you did. So, Nate is one of your gay friends, that you were telling me about?”

He nodded, “well, he is the only gay friend I have, until I met you that is. He came out to us right after we graduated from high school, his old man kicked him out and he has been staying with my family since.”

I said, “I sure am glad my dad didn’t react like that.”

Walker said, “and I’m glad my folks were willing to help him out. Nate’s a good guy and I can already see a difference in him since we got here.”

I asked, “what difference?”

He said, “he’s much more relaxed and when he came back to his room today, he seems a lot happier.”

I looked at Walker, “wait, you were at his room when he came back today?”

He laughed, “hell yeah, I told him I would wait there until he got back from visiting you, I sure as hell didn’t want to walk in on you two going at it. I’m a pretty open-minded guy, but I don’t think I am ready to see anything like that, buddy.”

I rolled my eyes, “I appreciate that, and I appreciate you playing match maker.”

The rest of the band also told me how much happier Nate was since we started seeing each other. I have to admit that I was happier too. I sort of became the unofficial fifth member of the band, I didn’t perform with them, but I went to most of their shows and helped them set up their equipment. They were starting to gain a following of fellow students, and because I was now working on the school newspaper, I did a story on them. They performed almost every weekend at one of the local bars near the campus. Walker came back to the room one day after classes, he was pretty excited.

I asked, “what’s the good news, you like you are about ready to burst.”

He beamed, “I am buddy, I just got a call for show this Friday night, if they like us, it may turn into a weekly gig.”

I smiled, “that’s awesome, I’m there to help set up if you need me.”

He nodded, “sure do partner, the bar said they saw the story you wrote and that’s why they are giving us shot, so we owe you big time for this one.”

I said, “glad to help.”

Nate also thanked me, he was obviously more grateful than Walker, or at least had a better way of showing his appreciation.

Friday night came and I helped the guys set up and took my place at the bar, Jenna had come in for the weekend, so we sat together to watch the show. I chuckled when the bar owner introduced Walker and the band.

He said, “The Dew Drop Inn is pleased to introduce Walker Higgins and his Texas Troubadours.”

I thought, if I ever write a story about a country singer from Texas, I couldn’t come up with a better name than Walker Higgins and what better place than the Dew Drop Inn for him to perform at. Things are fairly country in Oklahoma, but Texas takes things to a whole new level.

By the end of the show, the dance floor was packed, and everyone was having a good time. Jenna and I even danced when they sang “Tight Fittin Jeans”. Walker gave me the side eye when he saw us and when I held my hands up to show him, we weren’t touching, he smiled and gave me a wink. Nate also noticed and raised an eyebrow as I blew him a kiss. Of course, after the show, Nate and Walker walked out of the back room holding hands, they joked that since I was making moves on Walker’s girl, Walker could make moves on my man. It became a running joke with the band, Jenna played along by wrapping her arm in mine and giving me a kiss on the cheek. Walker laughed and looked at Nate, he said, “sorry Nate, but the only man I will ever kiss will be my daddy, and only when he is on his death bed.”

From that point on, the band was booked almost every Friday and Saturday night. I wasn’t able to go to every show, but I managed to get to most of them. Fortunately, Nate’s roommate would go home most weekends, so we were able to spend time together in his room. This worked well when Jenna came to town, so she and Walker could have our room. I had told dad about Nate shortly after we started to date, so when Thanksgiving rolled around, he invited Nate to come home with me. I hadn’t been home since school started, and I was looking forward to seeing dad. Walker decided not to book any shows over that weekend so we would all be headed to our respective homes for a few days. Nate nervously accepted the invitation, Aunt Sarah was hosting dinner that year and told me Nate was welcome to join us. Wednesday after classes, Nate and I packed up my car and made the drive home. I could tell Nate was nervous as we drove the 400 miles.

I said, “relax, I’m sure my dad will like you and Aunt Sarah and Uncle Al are great people. Sarah said that Holly is bringing her boyfriend home for the first time too, I’m sure he’s just as nervous as you.”

Nate shrugged, “yeah, I just can’t help it, my track record with parents isn’t the best.”

I chuckled, “they already know you’re gay, it’s not like you have to come out to them. Besides I talked to my friend Cole, he wants to meet you too.”

He said, “oh great, now I have to be nervous about meeting your best friend too.”

I shook my head, “you’ll be fine, I promise.”

Dad’s truck was in the driveway when we pulled in, we pulled our bags from the back seat and Nate followed me into the house.

Dad greeted me with a hug, “hey Devin, you look like college life is agreeing with you.”

I smiled, “it is dad, it’s been great so far. Dad this my friend Nate Baker, Nate this is my dad, Dave.”

Nate was shaking as he held his hand to dad, he said, “it’s nice to meet you Mr. Taylor.”

Dad shook his hand, “you too Nate and there will be none of that Mr. Taylor stuff, call me Dave.”

Nate relaxed a bit, “yes sir.”

Dad gave him a look, Nate corrected himself, “thanks, Dave.”

Dad smiled, “that’s better, are you guys hungry, I have some pork chops ready to go on the grill.”

I said, “I’m starving, we’ll put our bags in my room and be right back. I’ll help you get the rest of dinner ready.”

As we went in my room, Nate said, “well, did I do ok?”

I laughed, “you did fine, dad likes you, I promise.” I gave him a quick kiss.

Nate became more relaxed as we made dinner and then sat down to eat. I had told dad about Nate being kicked out by his parents in one of our phone calls, so we avoided talking about his family. Dad mostly asked us about college, and he updated me on what was going on around McAlester. By the end of the evening, Nate was laughing and joking with us, completely at ease.

When we were getting ready for bed, Nate wrapped me in a hug, “thanks for inviting me along this weekend, your dad really is a great guy.”

I gave him a kiss, “I know, and I told you he would like you.”

Nate sighed, “now I just have to make it through the day tomorrow with your aunt, uncle and cousins.”

I gave him another kiss, “you’ll do fine, and they will like you too.”

I was right, the awkwardness only lasted until the introductions were made. Holly’s boyfriend, Brad, was just as nervous as Nate was, but Sarah and Al soon put everyone at ease. My cousin Tim, who was still in high school, was enamored with Nate, he and some of his friends had just started a band and he was full of questions. Nate was great and answered them the best he could and encouraged Tim.

The next day we were going to meet Cole and Nicole for lunch. We were going to Shapiro’s, a locally owned Italian restaurant. Cole and I used to go there all the time, they made the best fettucine alfredo, and Mr. and Mrs. Shapiro were the nicest old Italian couple. We arrived before Cole and Nicole and Mrs. Shapiro wrapped me in a big hug, she said, “oh Devin, it is so nice to see you again, we have missed you and Cole so much. Alfred, look who’s here, Devin.”

Mr. Shapiro looked out of the kitchen, “Devin, I have a fresh batch of bread sticks right out of the oven, shall I start the fettucine for you?”

I smiled, “of course Mr. Shapiro, I drove 400 miles for your cooking.” Nate was standing there just looking at us, I said, “you better make four plates, this is my boyfriend Nate, Cole and his girlfriend are also joining us.”

Mrs. Shapiro led us to a table, “oh I am so glad to meet you Nate and I can’t wait to see Cole. You look skinny, Alfred, make those servings extra big, we need to fatten these poor boys up. I’ll get those bread sticks right away.”

Nate was laughing as we sat down, and Mrs. Shapiro disappeared into the kitchen. He said, “so have you ever eaten here before?”

I laughed, “maybe once or twice.”

He said, “I have never had fettucine before, what if I don’t like it?”

Mrs. Shapiro sat a basket of breadsticks on the table, squeezed my cheeks, leaving lipstick on my cheek from her kiss, she did the same to Nate.

As she walked away, I said, “how could you think that you won’t like food served by such a sweet lady?”

He laughed, “yeah, I guess I have no choice but to like it, do I?”

As we took the first bite of our breadsticks, Cole and Nicole walked in and received the same welcome from the Shapiros. They joined us at our table, and as I had hoped, Nate and Cole got along well. Cole and I were soon talking about old times and telling Nate about all the things we did in high school. Once we all felt as if we had all gained twenty pounds, we were wrapping up our conversation. Cole was facing the front door, I saw him look up as I heard the door open.

Cole rolled his eyes as he said, “oh shit.”

I asked, “what’s the matter?”

He nodded toward the door, “look who just walked in.”

I glanced at the door, turned back to Cole and sighed. Before we could say anything, I heard, “well, well, how are you guys?”

I said, “we’re fine Connie, we were just leaving.”

He had that condescending smirk on his face, “don’t leave on my account.”

Cole surprised me when he said, “you are the best reason of all to leave, Connie.”

I stifled a laugh as Connie narrowed his eyes and said, “I prefer Conrad.”

My favorite line came to mind, I said, “whatever Connie.”

He said, “I just came over to be friendly, after all I haven’t seen you since you didn’t show up for our graduation ceremony.”

I said, “you know damn well why I didn’t show up for graduation. Once again, you were the reason.”

Conrad still had that smirk on his face, “me? What did I do?”

I shook my head, “give it up Connie, I know you took those pictures and when Prescott found out it was you, your daddy stepped in and saved your ass, just like he has always done.”

Conrad’s face was turning red, “you can’t prove I took those pictures, besides, people should know what kind of person you really are.”

Cole said, “why don’t you just go away Connie, the only reason you came to talk to us was to just stir up shit, just like you always do.”

Conrad said, “I’m disappointed in you guys, I was just trying to be nice. You haven’t even introduced me to your friend, or should I say boyfriend?”

Nate said in his deepest, manliest Texas drawl, “I believe the man asked you to leave us alone, now why don’t you just slink away, and join the lady that you came in here with, Connie.” He put extra emphasis on the Connie.

Conrad just glared at Nate and turned and walked away. Mrs. Shapiro came back to the table with my credit card, and a to-go box, she had watched the whole interaction with Conrad.

She said in a hush tone, “I never liked that boy, here is some extra food for you, and don’t worry, that Brooks boy is not getting any free refills on his breadsticks.”

As soon as we got outside, we all burst out laughing at Mrs. Shapiro’s comment.

Cole said, “I see Conrad hasn’t changed.”

I nodded, “yep, the same old Connie.”

Nate asked, “what is that guy’s problem?”

Cole laughed, “Devin punched him out when we juniors, he’s still pissed about it.”

Nate said, “and what pictures were you guys talking about?”

Cole said, “I’ll let Devin tell you about that, Nicole and I are meeting some of her friends in a few minutes. We need to get going, call me before you guys leave town.”

I gave him and Nicole a hug, “we will.”

Nate and I got in my car and drove home, I explained the whole thing about the pictures and graduation.

Nate shook his head, “what an ass, I can see why you and Cole don’t like that jerk.”

I said, “I was really proud of Cole for standing up to Connie, less than a year ago, he would have never done that.”

Nate said, “yeah, he doesn’t seem like a very confrontational guy.”

I chuckled, “that’s putting it mildly, but I also appreciate you sticking up for us too.”

Nate shrugged, “that guy pissed me off, I couldn’t help it.”

I said, “remind me to never piss you off, you sounded kind of mean.”

He said, “well I’m not.”

I pulled him in for a kiss, “I know.”

He looked around, “careful, your dad might walk in on us.”

I showed him the note that dad had left, he went to meet a few of his coworkers for a beer. I said, “he won’t be back for a couple more hours.”

I took his hand and led him to my bedroom, we were naked before I even shut the door. We kissed and stroked each other until we fell onto the bed and began to suck each other. Nate was on his back, and I was on my hands and knees above him as we continued to orally, please each other. I let a finger find his pucker and as always happens when I do, Nate instinctively spread his legs. Nate also began to play with my hole with one hand as he fondled my nuts with the other, never letting my cock out of mouth. I felt his finger penetrate me as I let out a deep sigh of pleasure. Nate wiggled out from under me, his cock leaving my lips with a loud pop. I remained on my hands and knees, waiting for what I knew was coming next. I was not disappointed when Nate moved behind me and started to rub his precum leaking cock up and down the crack of my ass. He slowly began to push in and leaned down, kissing the back of neck. Our bodies melted together as Nate began to piston in and out, his pole hitting my sweet spot with every stroke. Minutes later, I could hear his breathing quicken and the head of his cock swelled as he pushed in. He whispered, “your ass feels so good, I’m going to cum.” I squeezed the muscles in my ass to milk him, Nate rewarded me with his hot, creamy seed.

I crawled forward as he fell onto the bed on his stomach, and he tried to catch his breath. His perfect round ass was right there for me to admire, which I did. I pushed his legs apart revealing his sweet hole, I gave each ass cheek a kiss then moved on to my ultimate goal. I raked my tongue across Nate’s pucker, savoring the flavor and scent of his manly hole. He reached back and spread his cheeks to give me more access as I began to push my tongue inside as deeply as I could. I worked his hole over until Nate panted, “oh God Dev, just fuck me already.” How could I refuse such an eloquently expressed request. I climbed on top of him and aimed my pole and slowly pushed in, returning the love bites on his neck that he had given me just moments before. Our moans began to sync up as I drove my cock in and out of Nate’s warm, moist love tunnel. I felt my nuts start to tighten as my seed started to churn to the surface. I pushed in as far as I could and let my baby makers fly, filling Nate’s insides with my love juices. I rolled off of him, and we started kiss as cum dripped from both of our well-fucked holes.

We decided a quick shower was in order and streaked across the hall to the bathroom. We helped each other wash every inch of our bodies, some places twice. I finally said, “we better get dressed, dad will be home soon.”  We finished drying off and wrapped a towel around our waist to go back to my room. As we got into the hall, dad was coming out of his bedroom, he grinned, “hey guys, did you have a nice afternoon.”

Nate’s eyes went wide, and his face turned red, I just chuckled, “yeah, it was good, how about yours?”

He laughed as he walked to the living room, “it was good too.”

After we got back to my room, Nate said, “I will never be able to look your dad in the eyes again.”

I laughed, “relax, he remembers what it’s like to be young and horny.”

Thankfully dad didn’t tease us too much, he just made a comment about hoping we washed out the drain of the shower, which caused Nate to blush again.

Overall, the visit home was good, I really did miss dad, and it was good to see Al, Sarah and my cousins. I was glad that Cole and Nicole were doing well and that they liked Nate. Of course, I could have done without running into Conrad but was glad that Cole and Nate both stood up to him. We made plans to return for Christmas and dad made sure to tell Nate he was welcome back anytime.

I was shaken out of my daydream about my college days by the sound of the front door closing. I looked at the clock, I had been in my room for over an hour. I told dad I was going to get some work done and if he needed anything to let me know. I stepped out of my room to see dad walking in with a big smile on his face.

I asked, “dad, what are you doing?”

He said, “I felt like some fresh air, I just walked to the end of the block and back.”

I said, “dad, you should have told me, I would have gone with you.”

He sat in his chair, “oh relax Devin, it felt good, and I feel fine. I need to start getting my strength back, tomorrow I might go for 2 blocks.”

I sighed, “ok dad, just let me know next time.”

He shook his head, “you sound just like your mother. You heard the doctor, exercise is good for me, but don’t worry I won’t over do it.”

I chuckled, “and you are still the same bull-headed man that raised me, nothing ever changes in this town.”
