The lawyer Henry Winfrey begins to show why he is so highly thought of. Max gets a day out with him courtesy of a signed order from Phyllis Troy. One can feel the end growing near. Richard Koufax and his slave, Max, come to a decision and things have changed.
The rest of the council, who will attend, will arrive and be introduced. Ridley is told more history, and it is rather shocking. He is connected with those of Char Le Maine's kind. He also learns of the possible existence of his ancestors from long ago. A deal is brokered with Dominick Fairchild, leader of Char Le Maine's kind. Paul Rogers has an announcement.
Billy Webb continues to get settled and resigns himself to return to Horace. Michael Fischer just cannot allow that, as he knows it is too dangerous. He does what he has to do to protect the young man. Horace has made something so evil it is difficult to comprehend. He sends it to see Dr. Margaret Younger-Black. who is his next victim.
Meet Susan Ensign, PhD/PhD Michael Fischer's other half. She is an extremely talented psychologist who begins to help Max and gives him the means to fight back against the growing scandal. Max is fully healed and has been looking forward to this. He burns in anticipation of it, it is all he could have imagined.
Other members of Los Iluminados Once begin to show up. It is a colorful crew with much history. Rieldy if riddled with their history, then his own. There is something about him that they have not told him yet. It is not the kind of thing someone hears every day. There was a reason he was able to make that roll of the dice.

Dr. Michael Fischer gets Billy Webb to admit himself to the Carl Bell Psychiatric Center. They try desperately to keep him from slipping further away. Horace Taylor continues to collect, adding a student who had a crush on him. He believes himself to be a God. Who is to stop him?
The small town of Pine Gap has its charms; the local taverns are different. Riley accompanies Char Le Maine to one to visit an individual. Combining the redneck factor with alcohol can sometimes be a volatile mixture. Ridley's infatuation with Paul Rogers grows. Enter a world where time is out of sync.
Horace finally lets Billy Webb out so he can return to the lab. He is going to a conference in another part of town. The psychiatrist, Michael Fischer, visits him. He can see the young man is upset, so they talk. IT security engineer gets involved and becomes Horace's second victim.
Mark Wright takes one tragic parting instance with Max. Maxwell Stapleton returns to Stanton Home and begins the domino effect. They will all fall, and he has planned this carefully. He has waited so long and been through so much. It is time. Meet FBI Agent, Phyllis Troy, who has no sense of humor.
A week has passed, so Horace has let Billy return to the lab. Horace is in a different part of the city at a conference. The psychiatrist stops to visit Billy, who is very disturbed over something. Fischer offers free sessions, and Billy has a breakdown. There is no escape.
Ridley and crew go to a community social gathering to confront his cousin. He sees things that are so much different from what he is accustomed to. The first cousin and group play a practical joke at Ridley's expense. This angers Paul, and a fight breaks out.
The Master and his Apprentice engage in some advanced dueling as Paul continues to prepare Ridley. Their relationship becomes more serious. The Apprentice goes deeper into this world he never knew existed.
Max is almost through with this hellish weekend. He has picked up some allies and has a solid plan to deal with the Warden. Tomorrow he returns to Stanton Home, he looks forward that, many will not. He has discovered a secret about the Governor's son.

An unforeseen catastrophe has happened, putting Richard Koufax in quarantine. The big Enforcers and Lieutenants argue about how things will be run until he is back. The answer comes from Max Stapleton's quiet voice. The slave learns he is only human and goes to Clyde Owens for help.
Surprises are pleasant, especially these kinds, Stan and Jeremy finally get some reinforcements. The LT makes it back, and a US Naval Vessel can make supply drops and deliver a passenger. Jeremy discovers a couple of anomalies in their medical exams.
The tension is at a boiling point on the blocks. There are times when someone has to stand up in the room and act like an adult. The Slave, Max, goes to deal for a peace treaty. Even if the Master gets angry, the consequences of violence are too high. He is willing to act like an adult.
Dr. Stan Leighton confirms what he was dreading is true. They now have a better idea of what they are dealing with. They have accidentally caused a calamity, and the world tries to recover. Something seems to be occurring to them as they both become more aggressive.
