The Meeting

“Damn it’s already hot out here today,” I said to myself as I finished wiping the front wheel on my truck.  I’m one of these guys that doesn’t trust the automatic car wash not to scratch my paint, so I do it myself.  It was easily 85 degrees outside, and it’s not even May yet.  Welcome to life in Alabama.  It’s April 2020, and the COVID-19 Pandemic is in full swing.  At this point, the talking heads on TV are still telling us it’ll only last a few weeks.

I live in an average sized town in Alabama.  There isn’t much going on around here.  Young people usually move away when they get the chance.  Some stick around, but most don’t.  I chose to stay because of the low cost of home ownership and the proximity to family.  I’m an only child, and I look out for my aging parents.  We have a Walmart, which the city used as a draw to get people to move here years ago.  The local chamber of commerce paints the place as a picturesque utopia, a mix of urban, suburban, and rural living.  Whatever.  I work out of town, so at least I get to have my work life separate from this.

As for me, I’m just an average guy.  I’m not bad looking, but I’m not going to win any beauty contests either.  I’m capable of getting dates with girls because I’m “not that ugly” as my dad likes to put it.  He likes to hound me about why I’m in my early thirties and haven’t married a nice girl yet, or even dated one for that matter.  I don’t think either him or my mom can accept the real reason.  They are your typical, southern conservatives.  Being gay is a sin where they are concerned.  Their beliefs caused me to have a lot of depression and anxiety during my teenage years.  If it weren’t for some close friends over the years who have allowed me to be myself, I probably would not have made it this far.  I have never felt the need to “come out” to my parents, and I doubt I ever will.  If they can’t figure it out on their own, then they just won’t know.  I don’t plan to enter into a serious relationship anytime soon, anyway.  I have my occasional hook ups, and that takes care of things for now.  There’s a four-year university just up the road, and I am usually successful with arranging a Grindr hookup every few weeks when I have the urge.  My favorite guys to hook up with are young, college-age straight guys.  They usually just want to get off and go, which is fine with me.

Just as I’m about to stand up and move to the next wheel, I sense a shadow of someone approaching and hear shoes on cement.  I look up, and what I’m met with certainly gets my attention.  It’s him.  I don’t know his name, but he has been jogging up and down my street almost every day for the past month.  He may have been doing it longer than that, but I’m normally not home this time of day.  The pandemic took care of that, though, so now I’m home all the time.

“Hey man,” he said.  “I’ve seen you out in the yard almost every day when I run by, and I thought I’d stop and meet you.” Up until now, I’ve thrown my hand up as to say “hello,” but that was the extent of our interaction.  He put his hand out to shake mine, then pulled it back before I had a chance to do or say anything. “Sorry about that man,” he said.  “I forgot we aren’t supposed to be doing that shit anymore with this virus going around.  “I’m Braden.” “It’s nice to meet you, Braden,” I said.  “I’m Josh.”

Braden was just about the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen.  He always runs shirtless.  He had a few hairs around his nipples, and a tempting happy trail leading down into his Adidas running shorts.  His dark brown hair was sweaty, and the dark hair under his arms was matted when he lifted his arm to wipe sweat off his brow.  He had a nice set of hairy legs, but appeared to have little hair elsewhere, at least that I could see.  By the way he looked, I gauged his age to be somewhere between 18-21.  He was exactly my type.

“This is a nice truck, dude.  You just got it, right?”

“I did,” I responded.

“Nice!” He exclaimed.  “Gotta love a Chevy! Are you going to put a lift kit in it?”

I laughed and said “Nah.  Every time I look at some guy driving one of those big ass trucks I say ‘sorry about your dick, bro.”

We both had a good laugh at that.  I was really liking Braden, but I was curious why he stopped by.  Was he just being friendly, or was there a reason he stopped?  I’m sure I’m way too old to be his type, even if he is gay.  He did not give off the demeanor of a gay guy, but you can’t use that.  People are usually shocked when the find out I’m gay, so he could be as well.  At any rate, I was just enjoying getting to talk to this gorgeous boy.

I moved on to the back wheel.  “I don’t want to let the water dry on this wheel.  It’ll leave spots if I don’t get it off now,” I said.

Braden watched me as I dried off the wheel.  “Oh, you missed a spot here, he said.”  He grabbed the extra towel that was hanging over the tailgate and reached over me to dry off a spot above my head.

“Oh fuck, I’m sorry man.  I know I’m probably ripe and I put my pit right in your face.  It’s hot as hell out here.  I need to head home and take a shower.”  With that, he lifted his arm at took a whiff of his own pit.

“Oof.  That’s strong,” he laughed.  “I may have forgotten the deodorant this morning.”

“I didn’t smell anything,” I lied.  He was a little ripe, but he wasn’t off putting.  He seemed to be one of those guys who didn’t smell bad even when he was sweaty.  “Not anything that I minded, anyway.”

I regretted the words as they came out of my mouth.  How could I be so fucking stupid.  Now this kid was going to go tell everyone in the neighborhood about the perv who liked sniffing his pits.  The neighbors probably already suspected something was up when I occasionally had late night visitors, but I didn’t need them in my business.  I like to keep my personal life private.

“So you liked it, huh?” Braden said with a smug smile on his face.  He was clearly enjoying this.

“No, what I meant to say was…”

“I know exactly what you meant to say, Josh. You enjoyed my pit smell.  Just like you’ve enjoyed looking at me like a piece of meat the whole time I’ve been standing here.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, dude.  Maybe you better just go.  You came into my yard.”

“Whoa, don’t get upset man.  It’s not like that.  I’m not mad about it.  In fact, I’m happy.”

“You’re happy? What is that supposed to mean, I asked.”

Braden laughed and kicked his shoes against the cement driveway.  Then he leaned up against the truck with his arms folded on the tailgate.  This caused his ass to stick out in his shorts.  Damn, I could even see his crack.  The fabric was distinctly darker in the area of his crack with his sweat.  This boy had a great ass.

“There you go again, he laughed.”

I was jolted back to reality.  He’d caught me again.

“I run by here every day.  Since you’ve been home, you’re out in the yard doing something almost every day.  You stare at me from the time I come into view until you can’t see anything anymore.  Same when I come back by.  Every time I turn around to look behind me, I see you staring, or I see you jerk your head away real fast so I won’t catch you.”

“Well, it sounds like you caught me.  So, what exactly is it you want?”  I was starting to get annoyed.  What was his motive?  He was sexy as hell, and lord knows I’d kill to do stuff with him, but I like to do this kind of thing on my terms.  Right now, Braden seems to have the upper hand.

“It looks like you’re pretty much done with the truck.  It looks great, by the way.  I need to let you show me how to wash my car the right way,” he said.

“What kind of car do you have, I asked.” As soon as I asked the question, I thought why do I even care what kind of car the kid drives.

“Toyota Camry.  2016 model.  It’s nothing great, but it gets me where I need to go.”

“Those are nice,” I said.

“Yeah, it’s not bad.  I got it for my birthday two years ago.  Well, it was kind of birthday and graduation.”

I did the math quickly in my head.  If this kid graduated high school two years ago, he’d be close to 20 now.  At least I didn’t have to worry about age being an issue.  He’s legal.

“Nice! So you graduated from the high school here?”

“Yes, I graduated in 2018.  Now I’m a sophomore at the college.” He was grinning now.

“So that makes you…”

“I’m 19,” he said before I could finish asking.  “I’ll be 20 in July.”

“So, I’m thinking we should go around back and relax on your deck.  I’m assuming you have a deck, right”

“Yes, I have a deck.  Just let me rinse out the bucket and put everything up.”

“Let me get the bucket.  Say, I don’t guess you got any beer in that fridge, do you?” He pointed into my garage.

“Well, as a matter of fact, I do.  But you will not be drinking any.  The last thing I need is your mom or dad coming over here pissed off that I let you drink.”

“That’s going to be the last thing they’d be pissed off about,” he said coyly.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”  I had a pretty good idea where this was going.  And to be honest, I’m okay with it.  Let’s just see where things go…

The next chapter in this series will be published soon.

This story was originally published on another erotic literature site.  I thought I’d try making some minor edits and publishing it here to see if it takes off again.  If you happen to recognize it and have read it before, the basic premise is the same, but I am going to make a few changes, albeit minor ones. Reach out and let me know what you think!
