The air was thick as all the intending interns stood by his door, nobody wanting to enter first, for some reason the Air conditioning stopped working in their minds as sweat popped up on their forehead as nobody knew what to expect when they cross to the other side of the door.
Suddenly the door opened, and it jerked them back to reality, a middled aged lady, fair skin came out looking so fazed and confused that she almost bumped into Greg who was standing by Chris, their guess was that she got chewed out by the monster behind the doors.
Chris attention paned to the tastefully furnished door that had the name of the mysterious man Boldly written on it
"Jayden Miller" Chris said almost in a whisper but Greg took note of the name and saw Chris just staring at the door.
Nobody still had the balls to open the door, as the were still mentally preparing themselves for whats at hand, Greg decided to take one for and broke the silence by sacrificing himself to go in first and take the bullet for us.
So with one swift movement he unlatched the door and went in, Chris was scared for himself and for his new friend he had just met and also for himself, what if he got rejected, does it mean he had to take his mother's help, thought filled his mind as he zoned out, but not long before Greg came out in the most dramatic way and showed us his approval form.
Chris was jerked back to life, Happy, excited at the fact that the person behind that door was not a complete evil person, before chris could go in next the two girl went before me.
As chris waited Greg started telling me how the man didn't even say a word to him, he just looked at his credentials and gave him his signature, he also told me how he was a nervous wrecked an we just laughed and brushed of the uneasy feelings we had before.
The girls were taking longer than Greg did and this concerned Chris alot, as he approached the door to listen in on the conversation they busted out angrily and turned to look at chris with pity as they Said "Good luck with that monster in there" the said as they angrily left.
Chris's heart dropped to his stomach as he began shaking as he got to find out Mr Jayden has just denied them internship, he was feeling whoosy, the air became thin as he started overthinking again, Greg noticed this and quickly went to encourage him to just go in and try his possible best.
Chris opened the door and walked in, the office was very dimly lighted as if it was some kind of dungeon, the temperature was coller than the one outside the door, as he approached him
"Mr Jayden".
The Man in front of Chris had the opposite of the character he portrayed, he was clear a tall man as Chris saw him earlier at the HR office but he didn't get his facial features that much.
His head was buried in the pill of work in front of and didn't even pay attention to the human being that walked into his office.
Chris cleared his throat to get his attention, Without even looking up he signalled Chris to drop his documents.
Chris was a little slow to understand his muted commands and that made Jayden cock his head up and gave Chris a very cold look.
Immediately Chris brain understood the hand gesture and submitted the files but not without catching Jayden's facial features, His dark and full brows were well trimmed, his eyes a very unusual green color that glistened even under the semi dark office light, his lips were pink with a brown fade at the sides and his facial hair was trimmed giving him this American Superstar look.
Chris could not look away as his eyes were now glued to this man sitting 10 inches across him, he pushed all sensual feelings he was having down at his pant and told himself to focus at the job at hand.
Jayden was clearly Chris' type Older, hot bod, he looked like someone who worked out a lot, his buff arm pressing around his suit, his chest clearly resisting the strain's of the shirt he wore, the power he exonerated gave of male alpha vibes but there was still something off about the way he behaved and that made Chris look the other way.
Jayden was deep into his work after he just rejected the other applicant when This stranger entered his office and dropped some paperwork, he looked through it and was impressed but didn't show it, he decided to accept this one into the internship, Chris face lit up as he saw Mr Jayden signing on his documents but he held his ground not letting his emotions leak, he didn't let the man in front of him see his excitement, Jayden then pushed his documents closer to him and that was a signal for Chris to leave.
As Chris was about to pick his files up and leave Jayden quickly held the files down, in that swift movement Jayden's fingers brushed lightly against Chris's hands. The contact made them both just stop and stared at each other, Jayden felt something churn inside him as the contact, but he quickly ignored it and spouted authoritatively
"Call in the other applicant" Jayden said
Chris just nodded and hurried out.
Chris didn't understand what just happened in there and frankly wasn't ready to understand, his mind quickly erased any cent of the memory it had of the incident moments ago.
C'mon Chris focus, he repeatedly told him self internally to clear his head of the hunk of a man he just encountered now, the whole incident now took up his brain space as he started thinking about what just happened and forgot he was to call Greg.
He spotted Greg and waved at him, signalling him to come over, Greg came and Chris immediately broke the good news to him, Greg was elated that his new friend now turned colleagues, Chris then told him that they were summoned by the "great one" referencing their new boss Mr Jayden, Chris said whimsically which made Greg and Chris burst out laughing.
They finished laughing and dried up the bit of tear that formed at the corner of their eyes due to their laugh and tried to go back to there serious work faces as Chris opened the door to Jayden's office.
Jayden noticed the door open this time and saw them both Greg and Chris standing in front of him, his mind still flashing back to how his hands and Chris's hands touched and the small spark that stirred up within him, he shoved everything aside and focused at the task at hand, giving this newbies a stern orientation.
"I dont normally take interns, i believe I'm enough and i dont see why bringing new incompetent, young, dumb, foolish and clearly clueless intern will make my job or anyone's job easier here" said Jayden with pure bitterness in his voice.
"But sir ...." Chris tried to speak
"Sir nothing, dont think You were both worthy to be here because of your connections, No No No, Your results spoke for you and i would love to see that kind of brilliance in this office"
"Is that understood?"
"YES SIR" Chris and Greg answered
Those words hit Chris deep into his heart and he felt like quitting right then and there but he didn't, he wanted to fight this next battle of his life and come out on top, he had to br strong, atleast for his mom that has cared for him his whole life and now this is his time to pay her back, he can't turn his back on her and his life now, No not because of this Man, he sucked it up, all of it and stood fierce ready for whatever will come next.
After the brutal orientation Jayden handed them what they will be doing in the department and told them to get to not without giving them an ice cold look.
Chris could see how down Greg got after the whole talk, and as good friends that there were going to be, he had to comfort his friend and assure him they will get through it together.
Weeks passed and they have already started getting the hang of the whole intern thing, Chris was happy that everyday he woke he had somewhere, something he does to keep him busy and he liked it but not forgetting he has someone there that has vowed to frustrate his efforts in that office but atleast he had Greg to comfort him.
Chris was waiting in the parking lot for Greg to come in with his car when he noticed their boss's car pulled in, so as a good intern he tried to help him get his bag was embarrassingly shunned, which made him regret even trying to help this beast of a human.
Greg finally came in and noticed Chris's mood was not looking really bright as any other morning, and soon he figured that he most have encountered Jayden.
"What up dude" jayden said coming out of his car.
"Its nothing lets just get in before we get scolded at for coming late" Chris said sad.
"What happened between you and the boss?"
"its nothing okay, just drop it" he said being agitated by the question.
So Greg did he left Chris to his feelings.
They greeted the security men at the gate as they enter the now familiar bank auditorium and quickly went there desk to continue work they were doing the previous day.
Greg's phone rang and it was Jayden
"Tell Chris to meet me upstairs in my office NOW" Jayden said in his normal authoritative voice.
"yes si....." before greg could finish he hung up the line.
Chris became curious and asked what's up
Greg told him the boss wanted to see him.
Chris swallowed hard unsure of what he was about to face at the mouth of the dragon.
He stood at the door unsure whether or not to open it so he knocked, the silence at the other side signalled that he was permitted to go in.
He stood before Jayden not knowing what he wanted, so he stood there without a word, the room thick with uncertainty his hard breathing was the only thing that had volume.
Jayden raised his head and dropped his pen, he stood up and come in front of Chris, the office table no longer a barrier between them, He could feel Chris breath intensely while his face said something different, he decided to put the boy out his his misery and signalled to the coffee cup clearly empty, chris looked confused so Jayden Said "Get me a cup of Coffee"
Chris's heart skipped a beat as the intense breath and voice from Jayden attacked his ears and then his heart.
Jayden watched Chris hesitantly rush out, his eyes staring at his body as he shuffling to find a rhythm, he was intrigued at the handsome that was just standing inches away from, he couldn't help but feel an Attraction to hold his hand or take in his scent, there was just something, something that lingered deep within him, it was new, a feeling he hadn't felt for a very long time, he just stood there wondering why this young man made him feel that way but he just couldn't place his finger on it.
Chris hurried into the kitchen and kept the cup on the table and just stood there, he stood there to catch his breath, something about when him and Mr Jayden alone encounters has him questioning himself, question whether or not what is burning within him is what he thinks it is, he sighed still clearly thinking, pondering why he felt this way for a man like Mr Jayden.
The door opened and two male colleagues walked in, the sound of their footsteps reminded him why he came to the kitchen in the first place.
He greeted the men, they looked young but he felt they were older than him in the organization,he proceeded to make the cup of coffee for his boss, but his mind still wondered, not settled.
He walked like a zombie back to his office, unaware of his surroundings as what filled his thoughts were him, Mr Jayden.
He opened the door but couldn't find Mr Jayden, he was relieved as he wasn't going to see him, atleast till he get his brain to stop thinking about things it's not meant to.
He placed the coffee down on the table and was about to leave before he felt something hard pressing against his back, the contact sent shivers down his spine, Fuck! through his whole body, in response he flenched and turned back quickly in response to the shock he felt his hand fly and landed on something.
"Fuck!" he said As he had just hit his boss on lips.
As Jayden opened the door he saw Chris and noticed he was distracted clearly not paying attention to him, he wanted to forget what happened, everything, shut out those things he felt, he didn't want to tage them feelings, but the more he saw Chris, the more he knew that wouldn't be possible, seeing as the more he saw this young man the more he wanted to get closer to him, to know him not just as a boss but something deeper.
He stood there watching chris move like a Chicken with its head cut of and that triggered a smile to form at the corner of his lips, at the realization he became hostile and immediately stopped, back to his stern face he made the walk back to his chair and noticed Chris was now putting the cup on his table, as he passed by he couldn't help but catch a glimpse of his scent, Chris' scent acted like some kind of command to his brain to stop walking and continue to take in the scent and so he did, unable to fight his body he stood there and just continued fillng his nostrils with the wonderful scent of Chris.
He was brought back to reality when he felt a sharp pain shot through his lips.
"FUCK" he said, as his lips burned with pain.
"I'm so sorry sir, i didn't notice you were there, i i..i" Chris stammered as he tried to apologize.
"Get out" Jayden said coldly.
"But sir you're bleeding"
"I said getout" Jayden spouted out very angrily.
Chris didn't insist anymore and just got out of the office.
"Ah" Jayden groaned in pain as he evaluated how bad the bruise was.
Chris got back down and straight to his cubicle where he met Greg's face filled with worry
"What happened man?"
"What?" Chris said
"You don't look so good, did he say anything to hurt this time?"
"What no, uhhh I'm just tired that's all" Chris said as he made a fake laugh to side track Greg from asking anymore questions.
Today really messed with the both of them Jayden getting the better share of the load, with both men not knowing what to do, should to they adhere to the signals of their feelings or would that just be too painful for the both of them.
Only time will tell.
