Dr. Moreau's Clinic
Chapter 1
Dr. Alexandre Moreau's clinic stood imposing and austere in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood. The gray stone walls, covered in ivy, gave the place an air both ancient and mysterious. A carefully polished copper plaque soberly read: "Dr. Alexandre Moreau - General Medicine and Psychotherapy."
Upon pushing open the heavy wooden door, patients were immediately struck by the unique atmosphere that reigned within. The entrance hall, lit by dim lamps, gave off a subtle scent of polished wood and lavender. The walls were adorned with paintings depicting bucolic landscapes, contrasting with the usual clinical atmosphere.
Dr. Moreau greeted his patients with a warm smile, but his piercing eyes seemed to scrutinize every detail of their appearance and demeanor. His deep, soothing voice had the gift of putting even the most anxious at ease. He always wore an impeccable white coat, and his hands, with long, slender fingers, seemed made to soothe and heal.

The waiting room, furnished with comfortable leather armchairs, was often silent. Patients, lost in thought, absently flipped through magazines or contemplated the scattered green plants. Soft, almost imperceptible music floated in the air, adding to the sense of serenity.
Dr. Moreau's office, located at the end of the corridor, was a spacious and bright room. The large windows overlooked a meticulously tended garden, where roses and hydrangeas burst with color. The mahogany desk, upon which stood a few files and a computer, was always perfectly tidy. Behind the desk, a bookcase filled with medical and psychology books testified to the doctor's erudition.
During consultations, Dr. Moreau listened attentively to his patients, taking notes with an elegant fountain pen. He asked precise questions, but always with a kindness that encouraged confidence. His diagnoses were always accurate, and his treatments were effective. Yet, some patients felt a slight apprehension in his presence, without being able to explain why.
It was in this seemingly idyllic clinic that Dr. Moreau gradually wove his web, drawing into his nets vulnerable men, ready to do anything to escape their inner demons. But behind the smiles and reassuring words, a much darker agenda lurked, a Machiavellian project that would change the lives of its victims forever.
