Rod's Room Review

Rod’s Room is a site from Next Door Studios that brings together top performers in raw suck and fuck action, mostly in duo scenes. Its distinctive gonzo filming style puts you right in the middle of the action, with close-up views as the guys kiss, rim, and fuck with plenty of chemistry. Directed and shot by Michael Vegas, the site has always stood out for its energy and intimacy, capturing models who let loose and explore each other without inhibition. We last visited in June 2023, and since then, no new updates have been added — suggesting that Rod’s Room has now gone inactive.

The site features 30 super-hot hunky men, and they bring us studs including Ben Masters, Devin Franco, and DeAngelo Jackson while Michael Boston and Ty Santana, Dakota Payne and Beau Butler, Brandon Anderson and Roman Todd are the performers who helped launch the site, and there are more handsome and horny men you'll be familiar with in the lineup. All the guys are well-known gay porn stars, although a couple are newer to the industry. The men have gym-fit to muscular bodies, and while most are smooth and clean shaven, there are a handful of hairy studs and some sporting face scruff.

The filming style at Rod's Room is decidedly different. Director and photographer Michael Vegas introduces us to the guys in unique ways. Michael Boston and Ty Santana are rubbing their tighty whitey bulges together, and the director says, "Do you think if you rubbed them fast enough you'd start a fire?" After some more cock teasing, he finally pans up Michael and Ty's ripped torsos and brings their faces into the shot. "Oh, hello," he says. "I'm so glad you're here today to play in my room." Many of the scenes start similarly. Dakota and Beau open by introducing themselves, then they kiss and pull off one another's muscle t-shirts. Brandon and Roman loosen one another's shirts and ties, and the director instructs Roman to suck on Brandon's nipple.

Rod’s Room now offers 55 exclusive videos in MP4 format. Videos can be streamed or downloaded in 2160p (4K Ultra HD), 1080p (Full HD), 720p (HD), 540p (SD), and several smaller mobile-friendly sizes. The highest resolutions are available on the newer scenes, while the earliest videos are smaller and slightly lower in quality. All scenes can be streamed in an adaptive player that adjusts to your screen size, with smooth playback on desktop and mobile devices. Videos run between 20 and 50 minutes, and overall quality is consistently good, with clear lighting and sound.

Each episode has a set of pictures. The action scenes offer around 100 good quality digital stills sized at 1280x1920. You can save the pictures individually or download whole sets in zip files. The picture viewer has forward and back controls, but there's no hands-free slideshows. The behind-the-scenes videos have a smaller gallery of around 10 good quality digital stills, and these give us a behind-the-director look as he films the guys sucking and fucking.

Let’s talk about updates. When we last visited in June 2023, Rod’s Room had 44 videos, and there are now 55 — an increase of 11 new scenes since then. The last update was published in September 2024, and no new content has been added since, so the site has clearly stopped updating.

There is however some good news. Rod's Room used to be a part of the Next Door Studios network, however the site is now a part of ASG Max network of 85 channels (what they call sites and collections), and altogether there are over 13,000 videos.

Apart from the major issue that the site has stopped updating, there are a few other things to be aware of. When joining Rod’s Room, there’s a pre-checked cross-sale offer on the billing page, though it’s easy to uncheck if you’re not interested. Trial members can stream but not download videos, and by joining, you automatically agree to receive promotional emails — you can’t opt out until the first one arrives. Memberships must be cancelled at least 48 hours before renewal to avoid one final billing.

The current network design is more modern, but the navigation is complex, renaming their sites as channels so you can't tell the sites from the smaller collections, and adding a third column, which replaces the simpler top navigation of the previous design.

One last thing. The site doesn't tell us who Rod of RodsRoom is, but the tour mentions director and photographer Michael Vegas. Are they one and the same? It'd be nice if the site flushed this out more, but I suppose it doesn't really matter because he brings out the best in his performers and films seductive, passionate, fun, and dirty sex sessions.

Rod’s Room offers high-quality, intimate sessions featuring well-built, handsome, and horny porn stars captured in a raw, authentic way. The chemistry between the guys and the playful directing style from Michael Vegas still make these scenes fun to watch, even though the site is no longer updating. There are now 55 videos available to stream or download, and while no new content is being added, the included access to the ASG Max network ensures members still get plenty of fresh content and overall good value.
